what was also kind of fun about the fire, (even though it’s an awful tragedy and nothing is fun about it) was how it became a local event and brought everyone out of their homes to hang out and watch something together. it was so nice to have everyone outside, sharing a common experience. it’s just sad that it takes power-outs or criminal brush fires to bring us together. i wish there was one day a month that was just designated outdoor community evening where there was no tv programming and everyone just hung around outside playing hop skotch with their nieghbors and eating and singing and talking.
